Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am

A letter to our valued players: exciting changes ahead

As we fast approach the tenth anniversary of the Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am, we are eager to share with you exciting enhancements we are making to the tournament to heighten the player experience, expand the event, and grow our fundraising capacity to increase revenue for Baycrest and the more than 1,200 seniors and older adults we care for every day. Last year, many of you told us that though you’ve loved playing in the Pro-Am, after nine years on the ice, the event was beginning to feel tired. Some of you were worried it might be time to hang up the skates. We took what you said to heart. We listened to this feedback and consulted many of our stakeholders including the Baycrest Foundation Board, the Pro-Am steering committee, our sponsors, long-time players, NHL alumni and vendors. And we made some changes.

To elevate, refresh and expand the event to what we feel has true national potential, while ensuring it continues to meet the high standards we have set for ourselves and our participants, we have partnered with CauseForce to build rather than bench what is a signature event for Baycrest and the work we do on brain health. CauseForce works with non-profits to help their fundraising events make more money and engage people in an organization’s mission. The powerhouse partner behind the success of events like The Ride to Conquer Cancer, CauseForce has a proven track record in elevating peer-to-peer fundraisers. Already a key partner for hospitals like Montreal’s Jewish General and Toronto’s Princess Margaret, CauseForce will work with Baycrest to ensure we can increase our media profile, player count and take the event to the $5 Million mark within the next three years!

Of course, 100% of the donations will continue to come to Baycrest, as they always have. Like other vendors we have used in the past, CauseForce is a service provider that helps the event run smoothly, while increasing fundraising totals through advertising, acquisition of new players and bolstering existing players to build their fundraising totals through encouragement and incentive. Since 2002, CauseForce has raised more than $700M for charities in Canada and the U.S., and we are very excited to benefit from the expertise they bring to Pro-Am.
