Please note these very important Fundraising Rules:

  • To be eligible, teams of 11 (minimum) to 17 (maximum) players and one coach will raise a combined minimum of $25,000 CAD through corporate and/or individual donations to play in the Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s.
  • Teams must raise a minimum of $25,000, and draft positions will be determined by the total dollars raised by each team (MT) deadline (TBA).
  • And remember -- the more money your team raises, the higher you draft!!!

Here’s who can participate:

  • Teams will be categorized by skill level in the following age divisions: 30 yrs.+, 35 yrs.+, 40 yrs.+, 50 yrs.+.
  • Teams in the 30 yrs.+ age division are allowed one goalie who is between 25 and 30 years of age.
  • In all other age divisions, teams are allowed one goalie and two players who are within five years of the minimum age for their Division.
  • Eligible players are only those listed on the game sheet at the time of play. Players are required to have proper identification on them at all times.
  • Participants in the All-Star game will be comprised of the top 15 individual fundraisers, (as of the fundraising deadline) along with NHL alumni
  • The Championship game will be split between the top two fundraising teams as of the deadline. This team will play against an all alumni team over and above the 3 game minimum.

Scotiabank Pro-Am Tournament Details:

  • Each team will play three games.
  • All games will consist of three 15-minute periods with stop time in the last five minutes of the third period.
  • All teams must be ready to play at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled time.
  • In the first period, the clock will start at 20 minutes for warm up, with the puck dropping at 15 minutes, and will not stop until the first stoppage in play. If an excessive delay occurs, teams may receive a delay of game penalty.
  • Mercy Rule: If a team leads by five or more goals in the third period of the game, running time will commence and will only revert back to stop time if the spread is reduced to within five goals.
  • If opposing teams have matching sweaters, the VISITING team must change
  • Ties will be broken by a shoot out by three players on each team.
  • Standard non-contact rules apply.
  • Only CSA-approved equipment is allowed, except for out-of-town teams in which case the rules of their local governing body will apply.
  • No centre red line in all divisions (blue line icing). Automatic icing in effect.
  • All players must sign the Scotiabank Pro-Am game sheet prior to start of each game.
  • Any player receiving three minor penalties or a game misconduct will be ejected from the game and any player receiving a match or major fighting penalty will be ejected from the tournament.

Scotiabank Pro-Am organizers reserve the right to assign individual players to teams, as appropriate, and increase or reduce the number of teams at their sole discretion. All Tournament rules and regulations are subject to change, and any decisions made by Scotiabank Pro-Am organizers are final.

Please Note: The Scotiabank ProAm hockey tournament invites all of those who have made an online donation in support of this year’s event to join us and watch the tournament. A tournament pass will be emailed to you prior to the event(s).
